Kallidus Learn - reports of sites slow or currently unavailable

  • Post-Mortem

    Between 09:19 and 15:07 BST on 28-04-2022 users accessing Kallidus products authenticating via Single Sign-On would have experienced disrupted access to their services, with the authentication process being slow or failing. Once logged in services were operational.

    Preliminary root cause: Engineers determined that an Azure SQL datacentre change resulted in database connections not being cleared or reused effectively. Senior Microsoft engineers were engaged to assist, it was identified as unusual behaviour within Azure SQL which they were able to resolve.

    Normal service has now resumed across all customers. We are continuing to monitor closely and are working with our hosting partner to mitigate.

    We are starting to see improvement for the majority of customers affected, once a user has successfully accessed the site/s they are able to use it as normal.

    We are now working to ensure that this is the case for all customers.

    We are continuing to investigate reports of intermittent issues accessing some Kallidus sites for a sub-set of customers, including Learn, Perform & Recruit.

    We are currently investigating an issue with multiple Learn sites unable to be accessed at this time, or when able to access, are slow to return pages. Our engineers are currently investigating and we will post here with further updates as soon as we have them. Apologies for the inconvenience this is causing this morning.
